The Jesuit basketball team lost to the Helen Cox Cougars on Saturday evening by the score of 72-64. The Jays struggled in the first half, falling behind by double digits early. They rallied and got within five entering the final quarter. In the end, Jesuit didn’t have enough left to complete the comeback victory.

The Blue Jays were led by numerous offensive stars, including junior Trey Laforge with 20 points and senior Grant Nichols with 19. Junior Foster Moreau added 13, and senior Brett Spansel seven.

Following an exam week break, the Jays will next play Thursday, Dec. 19 against Sulphur in the opening round of the Barbe Tournament.
