The 2013-14 LEF campaign accelerated into high gear on Tuesday, Oct. 8 as 85 Blue Jays came to Jesuit ready to do their part to help their alma mater keep tuition at a reasonable price. Blue Jays from the Classes of 1944 through 2007 enjoyed an Italian feast before adjourning to St. Ignatius Hall and nearby offices to connect with their classmates.

Two hours later, Jesuit president Fr. Raymond FItzgerald, S.J. ’76 announced the fruits of their efforts — 524 pledges totaling $188,949 — making this first of three nights of the fall phone drive one of the most productive in years.

The drive continues Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Alumni who come Wednesday will be treated to a steak dinner served at 5:30 p.m., courtesy of Koz’s Restaurant. The lasagna dinner on Tuesday, as well as this Thursday’s special baked chicken feast, are the catering creations of Pam Falter and Jan Signorelli.
