One of the great traditions of student life at Jesuit, the intramural sports program, kicked off its football season last week. This year marks a substantial development in the intramural program. Under the leadership of James Licciardi (senior commissioner), Corey Webb (assistant commissioner), and Ryan Ellinghausen (head referee), all seniors, the program has been revamped and re-energized.

With 40 homerooms from all grades represented and over 450 students participating, the program is one of the most popular activities on campus. Will Clark Field has been divided into four 60-yard fields where touch football games will be played during lunch throughout the fall semester. There will be a single elimination playoff tournament (seeds based on regular season schedule) to determine grade level champions. Winning teams will receive a championship t-shirt at a school assembly.

The first week of play saw only freshmen and pre-freshmen play. Four games were played by each grade level. Homerooms 801, 802, 805, and 806 won their games. Benton Moore (808) grabbed the first touchdown catch of the season. Other notable pre-freshmen players were Eli Larriviere (801) with a pick-6, Tyler Mire (802) with a game winning touchdown catch, Andrew Keubel (806) with both a touchdown pass and catch of the day, and Wilder Macguire (805) with two touchdown passes. Winning homerooms on the freshmen level were 901, 902, and 903. Notable offensive performances were given by freshmen quarterbacks Liam Crane (901), Blake Parenton (903), and Michael LaForge (904), all passing for two touchdowns each. Defensively, Tripp Ledet (906) had two interceptions in his game against 902.
