The Cross Country team traveled to Highland Park in Baton Rouge on Saturday, Oct. 5 to compete in the St. Joseph Invitational Cross Country Meet. With more than 300 runners and 38 teams, the Jays still finished in 6th place, despite missing some of their top runners due to standardized testing.

The Blue Jays placed two runners in the top 20 — juniors Matthews Vargas (16:36), Michael Schwing (16:39) — among a field of more than 330. Other top Jesuit runners were junior Ben D’Antonio (17:07) and sophomores Nick Slay (17:25) and Johnny LaForge (17:28).

The Jays return to action on Saturday, Oct. 12 at City Park in the Country Day Cajun Classic.
