Blue Jays Tailgate Prior to Jesuit – Central High Game
Prior to the Jesuit – Central High football game on Friday, September 20, Blue Jays gathered for a little tailgate on the outskirts of WIldcat Stadium. The tailgate event attracted several alumni and featured hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cold water and soft drinks. Joining the festivities were the Blue Jay Marching Band and the Jesuit cheerleaders. The tailgate was sponsored by Jesuit’s office of institutional advancement.

Charlene and Kevin Roca '80 with their son Wayne, a seventh grader at Denham Springs Junior High School. Kevin's uncle was Fr. Wayne Roca, S.J. '57, a Jesuit priest who had the unique experience of first teaching Blue Jays and, later in life, students at Archbishop Rummel High School. Fr. Roca died in December 1999. In August 2000, Kevin and Charlene named their newborn son Wayne in honor of Fr. Roca.
