Blue Jays Ready to Face Purple Knights and the Nation’s Top Recruit

Less than a week after crushing the Crusaders of Brother Martin, the Blue Jays are ready to tackle superstar running back Leonard Fournette and the St. Augustine Purple Knights
Members of the 2013 Blue Jay football team will face the nation’s top high school recruit in their season finale. On Thursday, Nov. 7, Jesuit faces St. Augustine and its five-star running back Leonard Fornette at Tad Gormley Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Last week, the Jays blanked Brother Martin, 20-0. It was Jesuit’s first shutout of the season. The Jays are 5-4 while St. Augustine is 8-1. The Purple Knights lost to Edna Karr.
A victory against the top-ranked St. Augustine could give the Jays a bye and a much-needed week off heading into the playoffs. If the Blue Jays lose, they’ll play in round one of the select school playoffs the following week.
Ticket Information
Tickets for the game are available up until 4 p.m. on Thursday at Jesuit’s switchboard (entrance is the blue awning on Banks Street). Jesuit student IDs and season passes will be accepted. Admission for adults is $6 and $3 for children (ages 6-11). Tickets at the gate are $8 for adults and children. Jesuit is the visiting team so fans are asked to sit on the side of the stadium facing Marconi Drive.
Broadcast of the Game
The game will be televised by Fox Sports New Orleans (Cox Cable channel 1038). Jeff Palermo will handle play-by-play duties with former LSU Tiger Rene Nadeau providing game analysis. The pre-game show starts at 6:30 p.m.
