Blue Jays Encounter Rough Surf, But Tame the Green Wave, 28-23

It was surf and turf night at Tad Gormley Stadium as the Blue Jays rode the Green Wave of Ponchatoula for a season opening win, 28-23. Scoring for the Jays were senior wide receiver Nathan Zimmer, junior running backs Malcolm Ben and Michael McMahon, and junior defensive back Dillon Knight, who intercepted a pass and ran it back 50 yards for a TD.
The Jays play the Wolves of St. Paul’s next Friday evening,  September 13, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
