Blue Jays Defeat Brother Martin (5-2) in District Match
The tennis team defeated Brother Martin, 5-2, on Thursday, April 4 at UNO to win the team’s third district game of the season. Senior Hobie Hotard (8-0) and sophomore Alex DePascual (8-1) won singles matches. Freshmen Jacob Niehaus (8-4) and Jonathan Niehaus (8-4) both lost hard-fought matches. Doubles winners were Trevor Lew / James Sampognaro (8-0), junior Kevin Mickan / sophomore Gregory Suhor (8-1), and juniors Andrew Tufts / Jordan Lacoste (8-2).
The Blue Jays (3-0) will next play Holy Cross in a non-district game on April 9 before their final district game against Rummel. The team is preparing for the regional tournament which begins on April 22.
