Despite a damp floor causing a delay of game, both teams played competitively in the District 9-5A opener at Carrollton and Banks. Jesuit stepped up with an early 10 point lead over West Jefferson in the first quarter and never looked back. At the half the lead closed to 31-23, but Blue Jays dominated in the second half, netting 41 points to win the game 72-50. Top scoring Blue Jays were senior Matt Felger with 21 points followed by sophomore Trey LaForge with 15.
