The Jesuit’s varsity basketball team fell on the road to the Rummel Raiders, 43-39, on Thursday, Feb. 7. Jesuit led in the first quarter, 11-7, had a six-point lead in the second, but then trailed at the half, 22-19. Third quarter turnovers gave Rummel a 30-24 advantage. The Blue Jays rallied in the fourth, but Rummel answered with a rally of their own. Players fouled each other to try to control the final seconds of the game, and sophomore Trey LaForge hit three free throws closing the gap to a promising 41-39. Rummel made two final foul shots to secure their win.

Sophomore Trey LaForge led with 13 points, followed by senior Matt Felger with seven.

Jesuit closes district play in Monday, Feb. 11, when the Blue Jays host the Brother Martin Crusaders. Tip-off is slated for 1:30 p.m.
