The entire Jesuit community is invited to An Evening with Ron Drez ’58, author of Gallant Fighting Sons: The Jesuits, Louisiana, and Their School in New Orleans on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 7 p.m. in St. Ignatius Hall, located on the third floor of the Administration Building at Jesuit High School.

Drez will speak about the journey of writing this book, the research it required, the “little gems” he unearthed, and the fresh perspective of his alma mater the task of writing yielded.

Books will be available for purchase at $50 each. Guests are invited to purchase a copy or bring an already-purchased copy for Drez to sign. Though there is no cost to attend this event, registration is required by Monday, September 16, 2013.

Published in May, Gallant Fighting Sons is Ron Drez’s chronicle of Jesuit High School’s rich history. Incorporating 167 photos and dozens of interviews into 444 pages of engaging text and notes, Drez takes his reader from the first steps of the Jesuits on North American soil to their founding of a school for young men in downtown New Orleans to the Jesuit High School of today in the heart of Mid-City.
