Basketball entered the state playoffs as the No. 8 seed and earned a first-round bye along with home-court advantage for the regional round. However, the Blue Jays were unable to hold off No. 9 Huntington of Shreveport in a hard-fought matchup.

Coming off a competitive district schedule, the Blue Jays were without their senior captain, Zach LaGraize, a recent District 9-5A All-District selection who was sidelined due to injury.

Despite the absence, the Blue Jays started strong. Junior Jack Maguire caught fire early, hitting three three-pointers in the first quarter to spark the offense. Jesuit controlled much of the game and built a lead of more than 10 points through the third quarter.

Junior Thomas Hulefeld added a pair of three-pointers, while senior Sven Jensen and junior Duke Nitcher chipped in baskets to keep the offense moving. Senior Brennan Pitts contributed on the defensive end with key rebounds as the Blue Jays maintained their double-digit lead through the third quarter.

Huntington began to chip away in the fourth quarter and eventually outscored the Blue Jays 26–17 in the period, tying the game at 61 and forcing overtime.

In the extra period, missed shots and mounting fouls proved costly for Jesuit. The Raiders capitalized at the free-throw line, converting enough opportunities to pull ahead and secure the victory.

Huntington pulled away in overtime, 76–63, bringing the Blue Jays’ postseason run to an end.

Jesuit concludes the 2025–26 season with a 19–13 overall record and a 5–4 mark in District 9-5A, good for fourth place in the district.
