Prospective families from across the metro area gathered at Carrollton and Banks for Open House, eager to experience what makes being a Blue Jay so unique. Hundreds of students in fourth through eight grade, and their families, explored the campus, learned about Jesuit’s classically grounded academic program, and met the school’s outstanding teachers, coaches, and staff.

“The energy on campus was electric as teachers, students, parents, and alumni came together to showcase what it means to be part of the Blue Jay family. Every presentation reflected the passion and pride that make Jesuit such a special place. From the efforts of our dedicated faculty and staff to the students who enthusiastically shared their talents in classrooms, clubs, and on the fields, the evening was a joyful reminder of the spirit and brotherhood that define Jesuit High School. I’m especially excited for our prospective families to not only see, but truly feel what it’s like to be part of the Blue Jay family.” – Theresa Truxillo, Enrollment Director.

Upon arrival, guests were greeted in Traditions Courtyard by the Jayettes, Jesuit Cheerleaders, and members of the Advancement Department, setting a spirited tone for the evening. Numerous parent volunteers warmly welcomed visitors at the check-in tables, ensuring each student received a welcome bag and tour plan to guide their Jesuit journey.

In the cafeteria, Jayson was on hand with Jayettes to take photos with future Blue Jays—a favorite stop for many families. The tour continued to the auditorium, where members of the Philelectic Society, dressed in costume and joined by the tech crew, greeted families. Before the formal presentation began, the Blue Jay Band performed on stage, filling the room with energy and school spirit. Families then heard from Fr. John Brown, S.J., Jesuit president; Dr. Jeremy Reuther, principal; Robin Rhodes, guidance counselor; and senior William Berry, who shared insights into student life, faith formation, academic expectations, and the Jesuit experience.

Guided by student tour leaders, families made their way through the Chapel of the North American Martyrs, along the breezeway, and into classrooms, where faculty members from every department showcased their programs. Students conducted science experiments and demonstrated robotics projects, including robots shooting hoops—highlighting Jesuit’s commitment to hands-on learning and innovation.

The evening culminated in Benson Arena, where coaches and student-athletes hosted conversations with visiting families. The MCJROTC proudly displayed their equipment while standing in full uniform, and the student media students invited guests to step in front of the WJHS green screen and try their hand at being a morning newscaster. For many prospective students, a highlight of the evening was stopping by the Student Council table, where they got to have a chance to ring the gong, a Blue Jay tradition reserved for big championships and meaningful victories. Meanwhile, Pigeon Catering, Jesuit’s food partner, provided delicious chicken sandwiches, pizza, and desserts for guests to enjoy as they explored the athletic and co-curricular displays.
