May Crowning Tradition Continues Virtually

Under the name of the College of the Immaculate Conception at its founding, Jesuit High School has long honored the Blessed Virgin Mary with special devotion. Students and faculty join Catholics throughout the world this May in showing respect for the woman who has been chosen as the channel of God’s love for humanity.

On May 1, the U.S. bishops also reconsecrated the country to the Blessed Virgin Mary in response to the current pandemic. In his words during the virtual May crowning ceremony, Jesuit’s interim president, Fr. John Brown, S.J., said, “God chose to favor Mary as blessed, so should we. God chose Mary as the instrument of unity between God and mankind, so should we. God called Mary mother, so should we.” The virtual ceremony, organized by Jesuit Campus Ministry, can be viewed below:
