Mu Alpha Theta Claims Third Consecutive State Title

For the third consecutive year, Mu Alpha Theta have claimed the state championship, capping off an impressive 2025–2026 competition season at the 64th annual Mu Alpha Theta State Convention in Baton Rouge. The team of 76 members competed against approximately 750 students from more than 32 schools across Louisiana, successfully defending their two-year title streak.

The convention featured a range of events including area tests, individual tests, games, ciphering, and an interschool team exam.

Area Test Results

Sophomores Rahm Sus, Andre Mouledoux, Parker Skelly, and Dominic Dinh, along with junior Ashton Hall, all placed in the top 25 out of more than 150 participants on the Algebra II test, with Hall earning 1st place. Junior Kale Le took 2nd place, junior Colton Bollman placed 3rd, and senior Connor Wilken finished 14th on the Advanced Math Test. Senior Wyatt Fontana and juniors Mason McMenis and Tristan Alonso each placed within the top 15 out of over 220 competitors on the Trigonometry Test. Seniors Paul Sparacello, Everett Kramer, and Jonathan Brockhoff all placed in the top 25 among more than 150 participants on the Mu Alpha Theta Differentiation Test. Senior James Denning secured 10th place out of more than 110 students on the Mu Alpha Theta Calculus Test.

Individual Test Results

Freshmen Jude Truxillo, Coleman Bourg, Stephen Perry, Krishan Thambiaiyah, and Miles Goudelocke all placed in the top 10 out of more than 75 competitors on the Geometry Test.

On the Algebra II Test, Hall, freshman Thatcher Slaughter, and sophomores Blake Tran, Michael Fu, Brennen Crowe, James Ganucheau, Arav Kamboj, and Graham Norton all ranked within the top 4% of participants.

On the Precalculus Test, senior Wyatt Fontana and juniors Grady Miles, Leon Edmond, Luke Cavallino, Connor Eagle, Connor Bussey, Le, and Bollman all placed in the top 3% of test takers.

Senior Ben Farmer placed 4th on the Mu Alpha Theta Calculus Test, outperforming more than 80 competitors.

Games Results

In Theta Descartes, Sus earned 5th place.

In “Gemini,” Jesuit teams excelled across multiple levels, capturing 1st place in Geometry, Theta Algebra II, and Alpha Precalculus. In Geometry, freshmen David Gomez and Henry Dimm took 1st place, while Liam Moore and Henry Ganucheau placed 3rd. In Theta Algebra II, sophomore Andrew Harrison and Kamboj secured 1st place. In Alpha Precalculus, Edmond and junior Gus Goudelocke earned 1st place.

Ciphering Results

Jesuit advanced teams to the finals in four of five divisions:

  • Geometry
    • 2nd place: Thambiaiyah, M. Goudelocke, Bourg, freshman Sameer Rab
    • 3rd place: freshmen James Wever-Edmondson and Michael Dawson, Truxillo, and Perry
  • Theta Algebra II
    • 2nd place: Fu, J. Ganucheau, and sophomores Ben Maloz and Gabriel Hernandez-Salcedo
    • 3rd place: Slaughter, Crowe, Tran, Norton
  • Alpha Precalculus
    • 1st place: Bussey, Cavallino, Eagle, and Miles
    • 5th place: juniors Brady Crowson and Luke Jones, Alonso, and Le
  • Mu B Calculus
    • 2nd place: Farmer, Darrin Haase, Henry Lackey, and junior Arthur Meade

Interschool Test

On the interschool team exam, all of the students worked together at one of three levels: Theta, Alpha, and Mu

  • 1st place in the Alpha Division
  • 2nd place in the Theta Division
  • 4th place in the Mu Division

With consistent excellence across every category, the Blue Jays secured the overall title, earning its third consecutive state championship.
