2026–2027 Jayettes Tryouts March 19–21
The Jayettes Dance Team is pleased to announce tryouts for the 2026–2027 school year.
Tryouts are open to young women entering or currently attending our all-girls Catholic high schools in grades 8–12. As ambassadors of our school community, Jayettes are expected to demonstrate excellence in dance, dedication, teamwork, leadership, and the character reflective of our Catholic values.
Tryouts will consist of up to three rounds of evaluation.
Registration Information
All candidates must complete the following prior to tryouts:
- Submit the online Jayette Registration Form
- Pay the $25 registration fee via Venmo (@jesuit_jayettes)
- Registration form and payment are due Tuesday, March 17, 2026
- Please include the candidate’s name in the Venmo payment notes.
Round 1 – Technique Evaluation
Date: Thursday, March 19, 2026
Time: 5:00–9:00 p.m.
Location: Benson Arena
Details
All candidates, including returning Jayettes, are required to participate in Round 1.
Candidates will be placed in small groups to complete technical skills across the floor for evaluation. Immediately following the technique assessment, dancers will learn the choreography for Round 2.
- Candidates may not video the Round 2 routine.
- Dancers will be informed prior to dismissal if they are invited to advance to Round 2.
Attire
- Black leotard
- Black shorts
- Tan tights
- Jazz shoes or half-soles
- Hair pulled back and secured away from the face
Round 2 – Choreography Evaluation
Date: Friday, March 20, 2026
Time: 5:00–9:00 p.m.
Location: Benson Arena
Details
Candidates selected to advance will receive a designated arrival time based on their audition group.
To participate in Round 2, dancers must submit their completed and signed tryout packet at check-in.
Candidates will perform the choreographed routine in groups of two or three before a panel of judges. Dancers will be dismissed following their evaluation.
Attire
Same as Round 1.
Round 3 – Competition Team Audition
Date: Saturday, March 21, 2026
Location: Benson Arena
Schedule:
- 11:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. — Competition choreography instruction
- 1:00–4:00 p.m. — Competition auditions
Details
Dancers who earn placement on the 2026–2027 Jayettes Dance Team during Round 2 and receive top scores will be invited to audition for the competition team.
Competition candidates will:
- Learn a separate competition routine at 11:00 a.m.
- Return at 1:00 p.m. to begin auditions.
- Perform the competition routine first as a large group.
- Perform in small groups (2–3 dancers) before a panel of judges.
Dismissal will occur at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Same as Rounds 1 and 2.
