Soccer Shutout Sulphur 6-0

The top-ranked Blue Jays came out scoring Friday night, collecting five goals in the first seven minutes to open postseason play with a 6–0 shutout of No. 32 Sulphur in the bi-district regional round of the state playoffs.
From the opening whistle, the Jays’ soccer team controlled the pace of play, creating chances and keeping Sulphur on defense throughout the match. Junior Casey Parker-Karst sparked the early scoring with two goals, first floating a well-placed chip shot over the keeper, then finishing a corner kick sequence by taking the ball out of midair and sending it into the net. Sophomore Jacob Kee added to the offensive surge with a powerful strike, blasting a shot into the top right corner of the goal past the keeper.
The shutout keeps the Blue Jays unbeaten at 19-0-2 and moves the team into the regional round of the state playoffs. The Jays will play Dutchtown on Thursday, February 11, at John Ryan Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and students (non-Jesuit and non-Dutchtown), and $5 for Jesuit and Dutchtown students with ID and children (ages 6-11).
