Indoor Track and Field Stands Out, Breaks Records

Tack and field has opened its short indoor season with strong performances in its first two meets of the year. The Blue Jays have already made an early statement, highlighted by standout efforts from several juniors. At the LSU High School Indoor Classic, junior David Quintana was named the meet’s Outstanding Performer after capturing first place in the 3200-meter run. His performance set the tone for the season and showcased the team’s depth in distance events.
Another memorable moment came at the LSU High School Qualifier, where junior Ja’ir Burks delivered a record-breaking performance in the 60-meter hurdles. Burks won the event with a time of 8.05 seconds, the fastest mark in the state this season and a new indoor school record. Other notable results are as follows:
