Regular Order, Day 7

  • Peer Support meets today during the first half of lunch in St. Ignatius hall. All leaders are expected to attend. Please see Mrs. Delaney with any questions.
  • Students interested in attending the Model United Nations conference this semester are required to attend a meeting today during the first half of lunch in Room 228. A follow-up meeting will be held tomorrow during the second half of lunch.
  • Any 8th grade interested in playing 8th grade baseball will meet today during the first half of lunch in the baseball locker room.
  • Sodalities will meet today during the second half of lunch.
  • Acoustic Guitar Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 330.
  • All pre-freshmen and freshmen participating in Catholic’s Math Tournament will practice today and tomorrow during the second half of lunch in Room 330.
  • The Recycling Club will meet today after school in Room 416 to pick up the recycling around the school.
  • The varsity wrestling team will host Rummel in its final home dual meet tonight in the Benson Arena starting at 6:00.  Senior Night ceremonies will take place prior to the start of the dual.
  • The Chess Club will meet tomorrow after school in Room 311. 
  • Intramural basketball registration is open for 8th, 10th, 11th & 12th grade. Sign up on IMleagues.com. Instructions on how to sign up are on the student life page on canvas.

Results:

  • The 8th grade basketball team moved their record to 13-1 after two games Saturday. In a 47-25 win over Curtis, Dave Vandenweghe scored 15, James Cheatham 10, Beau Smuck 8, and Andrew Morse 8. In a 34-26 loss to Rummel, Vandenweghe scored 16 and Will Walter chipped in 6.
  • Over the weekend, the Freshman basketball team improved their winning streak to 19 games by defeating Brother Martin on Friday by a score of 51-34. The Freshman also went 4-0 and won the Country Day tournament. The team defeated St. Thomas More in the championship by a score of 41-36. Owen Koloski was named to the all-tournament team, and Ben Royster was the tournament MVP. 
  • The Quiz Bowl team recently competed in the Ursuline Academy Invitational Tournament. The team of junior Grady Miles, sophomore Mikey Paul, and freshmen Henry Dimm and Finnegan Moore went undefeated through the preliminary rounds before falling in a close final to finish in 2nd place. Grady Miles was the 4th-highest individual scorer at the tournament.
