Football Secures 46–7 Playoff Win, Advances to Face Top-Seeded Karr

Jesuit secures a 46–7 Division I Select first-round playoff victory over McDonogh No. 35 at Pan American Stadium, after establishing control from the opening snap. On the first offensive snap, senior running back Gavin Palmisano broke free for a 58-yard run to the Eagle’s 4-yard line. Four plays later, Palmisano finished the drive with a 1-yard touchdown run, giving Jesuit an early lead that steadily widened.
Powered by an effective ground game, the Blue Jays opened opportunities through the air as senior quarterback Taylor Norton connected with junior Ja’ir Burks for touchdown receptions of 32 and 49 yards. Jesuit stacked a 20–0 lead by the end of the first quarter and extended the margin to 40–0 at halftime. The defense held firm throughout the second quarter, preventing McDonogh No. 35 from capitalizing on extended possessions, while Palmisano added a 3-yard touchdown run shortly before the half.
With the win, the No. 17 seeded Blue Jays (6–5) advance to the second round of the Division I Select playoffs and will face top-seeded, undefeated Karr.
