Cross Country Wins Sixth Consecutive District 9-5A Championship

Cross Country capped off a steady and successful regular season by sweeping the competition and claiming their sixth consecutive District 9-5A title with a perfect score of 15 on Thursday, October 30. The Blue Jays took seven of the top eight spots across the finish line. Senior Brady Monahan claimed the top spot on the podium, followed by senior Connor Fanberg in second, junior David Quintana in third, senior Joe Accardo in fourth, sophomore Rhys Grant in fifth, junior PJ Fitzmorris in sixth, and junior Nicholas Braud in eighth.
After months of consistent improvement and strong performances, the Blue Jays now set their sights on postseason competition — the LHSAA Regional Meet on Friday, November 7, and the State Championship on Monday, November 17.
Throughout the fall, Jesuit’s runners have shown depth, determination, and steady progress across a series of competitive in-state meets. Each race served as a building block, sharpening the team’s form for their championship push.
Pete Boudreaux Invitational
The Blue Jays secured third place at the event, led by junior Nathan Braud, who posted a 5K time of 16:07. The top five also included sophomore Rhys Grant (16:08), junior Patrick Smith (16:11), junior Andrew Nimmo (16:15), and sophomore Race Hughes (16:33).
Randy Zell Classic
Racing at home on the familiar City Park course, the team again demonstrated its impressive depth, fielding an entirely different top five from the previous week. Sophomore Collin Castle led Jesuit with a time of 18:32, followed by sophomore Theodore Passantino (18:48), senior Kevin Avin (18:51), freshman Douglas Lemaire (18:54), and senior Everett Kramer (19:45).
Jack Schommer Invitational
Jesuit runners took part in their final tune-up before the district meet, earning a fourth-place team finish. Kramer led the Jays with a three-mile time of 17:22, followed by sophomore Jason Comeaux (17:35), sophomore Samuel Russo (17:56), freshman Reid Kennedy (18:36), and Castle (18:44).
