Jesuit Mourns the Passing of PAC Chairman Malcolm Schwarzenbach ’83

Please join the entire Jesuit community in mourning the loss of Malcolm Schwarzenbach III ’83, who has served as the chairman of the President’s Advisory Council since 2019. Son of Malcolm Schwarzenbach, Jr. ’56 and grandson of Malcolm Schwarzenbach, Sr. (Class of 1924), his own son Mac, a fourth-generation Blue Jay, is a member of Jesuit’s Class of 2021.

Founding partner and CEO at local brand strategy firm Trumpet, LLC, Schwarzenbach attended Louisiana State University after graduating from Jesuit. Beyond his contributions as a volunteer and leader on the PAC, Schwarzenbach was a longtime class-level leader for the Class of 1983 turkey initiative that support’s Jesuit’s annual Thanksgiving Drive.

“Jesuit is the place that it is because for generations alumni and parents like Malcolm have answered the call to serve and to lead for the benefit of every student on Banks Street,” said Fr. John Brown, S.J., Jesuit’s president. “Malcolm will be greatly missed, and we will benefit from the impact that he made at Jesuit for years to come.”

The funeral will take place at Jesuit High School’s Chapel of the North American Martyrs (4133 Banks Street, New Orleans, LA 70119) on Friday, January 26. Public visitation will begin at 5 p.m. and Mass will begin at 6 p.m. A reception in the cafeteria will follow at 8 p.m.
