On the heels of “parade season,” during which the Blue Jay Band annually marches and rides in Mardi Gras parades to mark the beginning of Lent, Jesuit band members are currently preparing for their spring concert in the Jesuit auditorium.

Individual band members have also been hard at work, and six Blue Jays recently travelled to Baton Rouge to perform with the Louisiana State University Tiger Band for the LSU Spring Football Game. These Blue Jays had the opportunity to rehearse with LSU musicians in sectionals and full ensemble settings before they marched into the stands of Tiger Stadium. At LSU and at universities around the country, Blue Jay alumni represent Jesuit in an array of marching bands and instrumental music programs.

Back on Carrollton & Banks, the Blue Jay Concert Band is set to perform on Saturday, May 7 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. There is no price for admission, and all are welcome to attend.
