Following a victory against St. Paul’s on February 19, the Jesuit lacrosse team fell 6-9 to Strake Jesuit High School. The Blue Jays fought hard against their Jesuit counterparts from Houston, but a strong opening barrage from Strake ensured victory for the Crusaders.

Illustrating the depth of Jesuit’s roster, the team’s six points were earned by six separate players: John Calhoun, Nick Frischhertz, Tyler Autin, David Martin, Jack Sutherlin, and Will Frischhertz. At midfield, George Martin won three of his four face-off attempts, helping keep the Blue Jays stay “in the game” for the entire matchup.

While the Jays hoped for a different outcome, they showed promise and resolve from start to finish. The team’s next game against Catholic High School from Baton Rouge is set for 6:30 p.m. at Joe Yenni Stadium in Metairie.
