Assembly Order #3, Day 5

  • Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place today in the 2nd floor chapel. Benediction will begin at 12:10.
  • The Dissection Club will meet today during the first half of lunch in Room 313.
  • The Jesuit Investment Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in room 334. Please come with topics you would like to discuss and your phone powered off.
  • The Green Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 416.
  • The Tabletop Role-Playing Society will meet today after school in Room 120.
  • The Jesuit Rugby Team will take on Brother Martin tomorrow at 4:00pm at the Shrine on Airline.  Discounted tickets are $10 and should be purchased online by clicking on the event in the Jesuit Athletics Schedule on the website. 
  • The varsity basketball team plays at Brother Martin tonight with tip off set for 7:00.  The jv game begins at 5:45.
  • The 9th grade basketball team plays at Brother Martin on Saturday morning starting at 10:00.  The 8th grade game follows at 11:00.
  • The varsity wrestling team will compete in the district championship meet on Saturday at Rummel starting at 9:00.
  • The bowling team faces Brother Martin on Monday afternoon at AMF Lanes starting at 3:20.
  • Calliope, Jesuit’s arts and literary magazine, is accepting submissions through Feb. 11. Email submissions to calliope@jesuitnola.org.
  • Intramural basketball captain’s meeting will take place next Wednesday. Games start on Thursday.

Results:

  • On Monday the 8th grade basketball team overcame an early 11-2 deficit to beat Hannan by nine, 42-33. Tanner Hughes scored 17 points, Zachary LaGraize had nine, and Brennan Pitts had six. Beau Matulewski, Brady Autin, and Michael Brothers played strong defense for the Jays.
  • On Thursday, the 8th grade basketball team earned a hard fought victory over St. Charles Catholic, 25-22. Sven Jensen led the Jays with 8 points, while Tanner Hughes had five. Brennan Pitts had a key bucket in final minute, and Isaac Sacasa hit a first half three that proved critical later in the game.
  • On Wednesday, the Freshmen Basketball team moved to 6-0 in district play after defeating Rummel in overtime by a score of 34-33. Harrison Gootee hit the game winning three pointer with 15 seconds left and was the leading scorer for the Jays with 11 points.
  • On Tuesday, the basketball team defeated Rummel 48-33. Senior Matthew knight led the way , scoring 19 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Freshman Jasper Parker scored 18. Senior Michael Britsch and Sophomore Jude LaForge each had 8 rebounds for the Jays.
