Defense. Defense. Defense.

In what was the defensive battle of the young season, freshman goalie Ethan Lago came up big with 8 saves behind a stifling defense in Jesuit’s shutout win over St. Thomas More (STM), 7-0.

The offense played solid lacrosse with two goals each by seniors Blaise McDaniel and Clark Romig. Andrew Brown, Michael Yarboroguh, and Jack Unger each added a goal. After a high-scoring win the previous week against Holy Cross, Jesuit showed they can also win with a strong defense. A day later after an impressive win against STM, they faced Lower Alabama on Sunday, with a huge 17-4 win. This time the offense dominated and kept possession for most of the game with four goals by Andrew Brown and Jack Unger, followed by Clark Romig with 3 goals. Blaise McDaniel and Dickson Chamberlain had 2 goals each. The entire offense ranked supreme with additional goals scored by Michael Yarborough and Miller Farnsworth. Unger played a key role in creating 5 turnovers, retrieving 9 ground balls, and adding an assist. Freshman Ethan Lago had another stellar game with 5 stops, proving his ability once again.

As these dedicated and talented players gain momentum, they increase their chances of a berth in the state championship game.
