Forty senior Blue Jay athletes in the Class of 2015 were honored by the LHSAA for their academic achievements, including 10 Jays who attained recognition on six different composite teams.

Patrick LaCour made three of the composite teams, while Daniel Edmund and Michael McMahon were named to two composite teams.

Of those recognized, four are among the nine co-valedictorians in the Class of 2015: Edmund, McMahon, Garth Cook, and Mark James.

The LHSAA/Exxon Mobil All-Academic Award Program (presented by ISC) recognizes the academic excellence of senior student-athletes who have attained a 3.5 grade point average and higher by naming them to one or more of the Association’s All-Academic Teams — either the Composite Team, the Class 5A Team, or the Division 1 Team.

To earn recognition at the highest level and be named to a Composite Team, a student-athlete’s GPA must be one of the 18 highest in all seven classifications. Composite Team honorees are 4.0 students; they were recognized at their respective LHSAA state championship events. The Class 5A and Division 1 Teams are comprised of student-athletes whose GPAs are a minimum 3.5. Those students received certificates from the LHSAA.

The faculty and administration of Jesuit High School congratulate each of these senior graduates for their outstanding achievements in the classroom as well as on the field of play.
