Thank you for your interest in supporting Jesuit through this special Class of 1976 Lifting to New Heights initiative. As a component of upcoming renovations to the Chapel of the North American Martyrs, a member of the class who has chosen to remain anonymous for now has issued a $500,000 “challenge” to raise the $1 million needed for a new elevator to improve accessibility to Jesuit. Every dollar raised by the class up to $500,000 will be matched by this generous classmate.

  • This elevator will become an important entrance to Jesuit from the courtyard. It will enable mobility-limited visitors, students, parents, and alumni to easily access the chapel.
  • Additionally, the elevator will address a significant challenge for the many alumni and their families who hope to use the large chapel for their loved one’s funeral services. It is designed to fit a casket to prevent families from having to carry a casket up three flights of stairs.

The new entrance will be beautifully architected while consistently matching the rest of Jesuit’s campus, and the Class of 1976 will be recognized permanently on the structure upon completion of this challenge. Members who pledge leadership-level support at the $25,000 level and above will be recognized individually on the dedication plaque of the new entrance itself.

This form records your pledge towards this project. No payment is due at this time. If you have any questions, please reach out to Jamie Roy, Jesuit’s major gift coordinator, at roy@jesuitnola.org or (504) 483-3923.
