A Salute to Service
Jesuit's Veterans Day assembly recognized eight faculty and staff veterans, tracing the holiday's origins back to the armistice that ended World War I in 1918.

Blue Jays gathered for a special morning assembly honoring the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces in recognition of the upcoming Veterans Day.
The observance began with the MCJROTC presenting the colors, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a performance of the national anthem by the MCJROTC Band.
Senior Cadet Captain Anderson Castillo, drum major and band officer, shared the history of Veterans Day, which traces its origins to the end of World War I. Originally known as Armistice Day, the observance commemorated the cessation of major hostilities at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. In 1954, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day to honor all Americans who have served in the military.
A highlight of the assembly was the recognition of eight faculty and staff members who have served in the Armed Forces. As their names were announced, the school community honored their years of service and dedication to the nation.
