2026 LMEA District VI Marching Festival
Performing a Led Zeppelin-themed show at the LMEA District VI Marching Assessment Festival, the band earned an Excellent rating overall and Superior ratings in both Percussion and Auxiliary.

The Blue Jay Marching Band, alongside the Jayettes, recently showcased their talents at the 2026 LMEA District VI Marching Assessment Festival with a performance of Journey to the Nexus. Under the direction of Joe Caluda ’79 and associate director Jason Giaccone, the ensemble earned an Excellent rating for overall band performance, with Superior ratings in both Percussion and Auxiliary.
This year’s show, Journey to the Nexus, featured the music of legendary rock band Led Zeppelin, bringing three iconic songs to the field: “Immigrant Song,” “Kashmir,” and “Stairway to Heaven.” The production combined powerful musical arrangements, coordinated drill formations, and dynamic choreography to create an engaging performance. Senior drum major Andy Castillo led the marching ensemble, while senior Jayettes captain Elyse Dysart guided the dance team through routines that complemented the music and visual presentation.
The performance reflected the dedication and preparation of students and instructors alike. Percussion instructors Woody Dantagnan and Blake Schayot helped lead the section to its Superior rating, while technical assistant D.J. Galiano ’07 contributed to the production. The Jayettes, under the leadership of head coach Erin Castille, assistant coach Madison Chiappetta, and moderator Kelly Clark, also earned a Superior rating for their performance.
The Blue Jay Marching Band and Jayettes continue to demonstrate the strength of the school’s performing arts programs. Their achievements at the LMEA festival reflect the talent, discipline, and collaboration fostered through Jesuit’s classically grounded educational program.
