The halls were once again filled with laughter, handshakes, and familiar faces as new and veteran Blue Jays returned to campus for Registration Day, signaling that another school year is just around the corner.

Students arrived in coats and ties ready to take ID photos, reconnect with classmates, and check off the essentials for the year ahead. For returning Jays, the day offered a chance to catch up with friends after the sum mer months. For pre-freshmen, it was one of their first opportunities to experience the routines of daily life on Carrollton & Banks.

The day began with a welcome from Prefect of Discipline Michael Armelin, who reminded students of the structure and expectations that will guide their formation throughout the year. From there, Blue Jays made their way through campus, replenishing lunch accounts, logging into computer accounts, and taking care of other first-day necessities.

Faculty and staff were stationed throughout the Hall of Honors to keep things moving. Students signed up for retreats, secured their lockers, registered their vehicles, purchased name tags, and handled the many small tasks that come with the start of a new school year.

For seniors, Registration Day also brought an opportunity to add some personality to a familiar tradition. Members of the Class of 2027 enjoyed the privilege of choosing their own attire for their ID photos. Hawaiian shirts brought a taste of summer to campus, while others opted for a fun new look of blue denim made more than a few appearances. The variety gave their final student ID photos a distinctly senior touch.

While veteran Jays knew the routine, pre-freshmen had some extra help along the way. Big Brothers accompanied the younger Jays through Registration Day, helping them navigate campus, work through first-time necessities, and get a sense of what to expect in the coming days. From figuring out lockers to finding the next station, Big Brothers helped make a day full of firsts feel a little more familiar.

Between stops, the mood around campus was unmistakably upbeat. Laughter and jokes carried through the halls as classmates reunited, seniors settled into their new role as campus leaders, and the newest Blue Jays began finding their place within the halls.

Registration Day serves as the unofficial start of the school year, to be followed by Investiture for new students on August 12 and the commencement of classes for all students on the following day. Families are encouraged to regularly check the Jesuit calendar for the most current information and the bulletin for student code of conduct and other student behavior guidelines.
