Senior Will Berry Named Allstate Sugar Bowl Scholar Athlete Scholarship Recipient

Senior Will Berry has been named an Allstate Sugar Bowl Scholar Athlete Scholarship recipient by the Allstate Sugar Bowl Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, earning a $10,000 scholarship in recognition of his outstanding achievements in academics, athletics and service.
Berry was among 40 high school football student-athletes from the Greater New Orleans area honored during the organization’s annual scholar-athlete recognition event. The honorees were selected from nominations submitted by their schools and recognized for excellence in the classroom, leadership in the community and accomplishments on the football field.
Following the initial selection process, five students were chosen to receive scholarship awards based on their overall achievements and essays submitted after being named scholar-athletes. Berry was one of four students awarded a $10,000 scholarship.
A standout defensive lineman for Jesuit under head coach Ryan Manale, Berry distinguished himself as one of the school’s top scholar-athletes. He is a nominee for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, a National Merit Scholar, an AP Scholar Award recipient and a member of the National Honor Society. He also earned the School Recognition Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement, received Magna Cum Laude honors on the National Latin Exam and was named to the Honor Roll every semester during his time at Jesuit.
On the field, Berry was a four-year football letterman, three-year starter and four-year team captain who earned all-district honors during his career. In addition to football, he excelled in wrestling, capturing the 2026 Division I state championship in the 285-pound weight class.
Berry has also demonstrated a strong commitment to service and leadership in the Jesuit community. He serves on the executive board of Hams for Fams, a student-run organization that provides meals to families in need, volunteers as a Krewe de Camp counselor and serves as a Eucharistic Minister.
He will continue his academic and athletic career at Princeton University, where he plans to play football.
