Senior Adam al Hariri Named POSSE Scholarship Recipient

Senior Adam “Bassam” al Hariri has been named a Posse Scholarship recipient. Al Hariri is an alumnus of École Bilingue de la Nouvelle-Orléans and is the son of Adham al Hariri and Shams Halat. He has been accepted to Tulane University, where he plans to attend in the fall. Al Hariri aims to major in Finance while also pursuing a pre-med track.
Posse Scholars are chosen from a pool of nominees from around the state. Through several rounds of interviews, the original pool is narrowed down to a group of finalists before scholarships are awarded to the most exceptional candidates.
At Jesuit, al Hariri has been an active student leader and member of several co-curricular activities. He is a varsity wrestler, serves as treasurer of the National Honor Society, and is a member of the Canisius House leadership team, and the Medical Society. In the community, al Hariri volunteers at Grace at the Green Light. He is also trilingual, fluent in English, French, and Arabic.
“I’ve had the pleasure of coaching Bassam for the last four years and it comes to no surprise he is honored with this scholarship. He takes a lot of pride in the effort he puts into his studies and I am excited to see where the future takes him. He has left a mark on campus and in the wrestling program.” – Coach Jon Orillion ’01
Above all, Jesuit relentlessly pursues God’s greater glory. While students’ academic accolades reflect the school’s mission, they are not the mission itself. They instead signify that Blue Jays are becoming the men that they were made to be: men of faith and men for others.
Alongside celebrating students who attain these academic accomplishments, Jesuit also highlights graduating seniors who are named winners of highly selective merit-based national scholarship competitions. Click here to read about more of these students.
