Regular Order, Day 2

  • The Anime Club will meet today during lunch in Room 116.
  • The Classic Rock Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 203. The yearbook picture will be taken promptly at the start of the meeting.
  • The Tabletop Gaming Society will meet today immediately after school in Room 314.  
  • J-Troupe, Jesuit’s elite improv comedy team, will meet today after school in Room 330.
  • The varsity lacrosse team will  host Catholic in the quarterfinal round of the Division 1 state playoffs tonight at Muss Bertolino starting at 7:00.
  • The varsity track team will compete in the Carolina Distance Festival in Matthews, NC today.
  • The varsity baseball team will host St. Charles Catholic in the final game of its postseason exhibition series this afternoon at John Ryan Stadium with first pitch set for 4:30.
  • The varsity rugby team will face Catahoulas in a state semifinal match on Saturday afternoon at Marconi starting at 1:00.
  • The junior varsity lacrosse team will host St. Stanislaus in the quarterfinal round of the Division 2 playoffs on Saturday morning at Muss Bertolino starting at 10:00 a.m.
  • The Chess Club will meet on Monday after school in Room 311.
  • Students who earned a gold or silver medal on the National Latin Exam should stay in the courtyard after assembly to take a group photo.

Results:

  • This past Saturday, the rugby team closed out the regular season iby defeating Hammond 84-17. Oliver Burgau put on an incredible performance, racking up a hat trick of tries. Dax Rizer, Tucker Graham, Matt Scalise, and several others added to the scoring frenzy, bringing the total to an explosive 13 tries. Congratulations.
  • The Junior Varsity Baseball Team won 5 straight games including 3 games in the past week.  On Monday, the team defeated Pope John Paul II in walk-off fashion by a score of 6-5.  Braden Chadwick was the winning pitcher.  Mani Vandenweghe had 2 hits and an RBI, and Philip Toups drove in the winning run. The Blue JayVees also swept its 2-game series with Rummel by scores of 5-3 and 7-4.   In Game 1, Julian Alvarado had a double and 2 RBIs.  Ian Leblanc started on the mound and earned the win, and Jackson Cantrelle pitched excellently in relief, striking out 3.  In game 2 of the Rummel series, the Blue JayVees pounded out 14 hits to complete the sweep.  Marcellus Savoie and Harrison Serio each had 3 hits, and Blake Pitts added 2 hits.  Cooper Ryan was the winning pitcher.  Jackson Cantrelle earned the save in relief.
