Results:

  • Congratulations to the Jesuit Golf team on their 155-197 victory over the Holy Cross Tigers.  Low rounds of the match were shot by senior William Boasberg, sophomore Brooks Blanchard, and sophomore John Discon.
  • This weekend Jesuit Sailing competed in the Mississippi State Championship. Jesuit finished 2nd overall in Fleet Racing and 1st overall in Team Racing.
  • The past two Saturdays, Jesuit Rugby put the state on notice. In a gritty, edge of your seat showdown, the Blue Jays took down crosstown rival Brother Martin in a 22 to 20 thriller that came down to the final moments. It was a back and forth battle from start to finish, with Jesuit refusing to back down. Tries from the explosive Ford Frischertz, the “quarter pounder” Oliver Burgau, and Tucker Graham kept the Jays within striking distance before Theo Patrias delivered the dagger with a game sealing try that sent the sideline into chaos. Behind it all was Putty Peterman, who turned in the kicking performance of his life under pressure. If that game proved Jesuit’s toughness, the following Saturday proved their dominance as the Blue Jays unleashed a full offensive onslaught against East Jefferson in a 50 to 17 win. It was a statement game from start to finish, highlighted by a legacy performance from Putty Peterman with four tries, while Oliver Burgau added two of his own. Sebastian Fernandez, Dax Rizer, and Oliver Cook each crossed the try line as Jesuit overwhelmed East Jefferson in every phase of the game.
  • On Saturday, Jesuit’s team of attorneys, Ben Farmer, Christopher Juge, and Derek Moore, and witnesses, Grant Carroll, Everett Kramer, Paul Sparacello, and Isaac Uhlich, competed in the state mock trial championship held at the United State district court in Shreveport.  After defeating Carencro in the first single elimination round, in the second round Jesuit avenged its regional loss two weeks ago by defeating Haynes Academy.  In the championship round, Jesuit defeated last year’s winner, Caddo Magnet.  The team will represent the State of Louisiana in the National Mock Trial Tournament, which will be held in Des Moines, Iowa, in May.  Congratulations to Jesuit’s Mock Trial team.
