Enzo Solitario ’25 Posts Second-Fastest Freshman Relay Split in NCAA History

Enzo Solitario ’25, is already making an immediate impact during his freshman season with the University of Wisconsin swim team. At the 2026 Big Ten Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships, Solitario swam a remarkable 1:30.43 split on the second leg of Wisconsin’s 800 freestyle relay, the second-fastest split ever recorded by a freshman in the event. His performance helped lead the Badgers to a runner-up finish with a time of 6:08.87, which broke Wisconsin’s program record by nearly five seconds and further established Solitario among the fastest freshman relay swimmers in NCAA history. In the 200 free, Solitario sealed a bronze-medal finish with a time of 1:32.12, marking a second-best all-time finish at UW.

Solitario built his reputation as one of Louisiana’s top swimmers during his time at Jesuit, where he was a Louisiana state record holder and helped the Blue Jays set multiple records at the 2023 LHSAA Division I State Championships. At that meet, he swept the sprint freestyle events with record-breaking swims of 20.31 in the 50-yard freestyle and 44.40 in the 100-yard freestyle, while also anchoring Jesuit’s 200 medley relay to a state record. He also competed on the national stage, qualifying for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials in the 100-meter butterfly with a personal-best time of 53.37 seconds, earning the opportunity to race against the country’s top swimmers in Indianapolis.
