Regular Order, Day 6

  • The annual school-wide king cake party will take place Friday during the second half of lunch in the courtyard. Organize your club or team to participate. Reach out to Mr. Orillion via email is you want a table for your club or team. Friday will also be a Purple, Green, and Gold Day. Wear your favorite Mardi Gras attire on Friday.   • Calliope is accepting submissions until Feb. 23. Send your poetry, prose, art, and photography to calliope@jesuitnola.org.
  • The Chess Club will meet today during the first half of lunch and tomorrow after school in Room 311. 
  • The Anime Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 116 to make an Anime Tier List. 
  • All Sodalists are reminded that retreat forms are due at today’s meeting during the second half of lunch.
  • Juniors who applied for the service trip to Appalachia should see Mr. Prados today.
  • All House Olympics champions from Xavier should bring their medals to the Campus Ministry office tomorrow during the first half of lunch.
  • The varsity soccer team will host Dutchtown in the regional round of the state playoffs on Thursday night at John Ryan Stadium starting at 6:30.  Admission price is $10.00 each for adults and students (non-Jesuit and non-Dutchtown) and $5.00 each for children (ages 6-11) and Jesuit and Dutchtown students with ID.
  • The varsity baseball team plays at Mandeville this evening with first pitch set for 5:00.
  • The jv baseball team will play at Pope John Paul this evening starting at 5:30.
  • Second-notice printing fees for January have been sent to students’ Outlook accounts. Please pay in Room 215 before the end of lunch on Thursday, Feb. 12 to avoid losing computer privileges and receiving a PH.

Results:

  • The 8th grade basketball team, coached by Tim Farrelly ’80, finished its season with a record of 20-2. Wins this past Saturday included a 38-19 win over Curtis spurred on by Beau Smuck’s 10 points, James Cheatham’s 9 pts, and two big second half 3’s by Andrew Morse. In a 36-26 win over St Paul’s, the Jays were led by Smuck’s 8 points and Dave Vandenweghe’s 9 points.
