Assembly Order #3, Day 2

  • Room Changes: Sophomores in Mrs. Jennings 3rd period (slot 4) Art I class as well as sophomores from Mr. Cragin’s 3rd period Theatre I class report directly to Computer Lab 3 today for class.  Sophomores in Coach Hatty and Coach DeVun’s 4th period (slot 5) Health and PE classes report directly to Computer Lab 3 for class today.  Students will be meeting with Guidance to complete a version of the Myers Briggs Personality Inventory
  • The Anime Club will meet today during lunch in Room 116.
  • The Classic Rock Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 203.
  • The J-Troupe, Jesuit’s elite improv comedy team, will meet today after school in Room 202.
  • The varsity wrestling team will compete in the Louisiana Classic in Gonzales this evening and on Saturday.
  • The varsity basketball team plays at Brother Martin tonight with tip off set for 7:00.  The jv game begins at 5:45, while the 9th grade game starts at 4:30.
  • The varsity soccer team will host Chalmette on Saturday at John Ryan Stadium starting at 11:00.  Senior Day ceremonies will take place prior to kickoff.
  • The varsity powerlifting team will compete in the Lion Invitational at Covington High on Saturday.
  • The varsity rugby team will play at Jesuit Dallas on Saturday starting at 3:00.
  • The 8th grade soccer team will play at Newman on Saturday afternoon starting at 3:00.
  • The 9th grade soccer team will compete in the St. Paul’s Tournament on Saturday.
  • The 8th grade basketball team will face John Curtis at 11:00 and Rummel at 12:00 on Saturday with both games being played at Holy Cross.
  • The 9th grade basketball team will compete in the Country Day Tournament this weekend.
  • All Mu Alpha Theta members should check their Outlook account for important information about State Convention. Forms are due by Tuesday at 8am. 

Results:

  • The 8th grade basketball team improved its record to 12-0 over the past week with wins over Boyet Middle from Slidell, Brother Martin, Rummel, and Hannan. Versus Boyet, 9 Blue Jays contributed to the scoring with Will Walter contributing 9 points in the first quarter to stake the team to a 25-5 lead. Will Baldwin and Dominick Bennet led the 2nd half scoring with 4 apiece in the 50-17 win. Wins vs Brother Martin and Rummel from Saturday are more like rumors in that no official scores are available, only the word of Coach Tim Farrelly. Monday the Baby Jays defeated Hannan 44-29; Scoring again was balanced: Dave Vandenweghe had 9, Beau Smuck 11, Dominick Bennett 8, and James Cheatham 11.
