Regular Order, Day 2

  • The Chess Club will meet today during the first half of lunch and tomorrow after school in Room 311. 
  • Fall Sports Recognition Night will take place tomorrow evening in the auditorium.  Report time for all cross country, football, and swimming lettermen is 6:10.  Attire for lettermen is coat, tie, and dress shoes.  Tennis shoes do not meet these requirements.
  • The Mock Trial Team will hold an organizational meeting on Wednesday at 6:00 pm in Room 122.

Results:

  • The Blue Jay Wrestlers traveled to Baton Rouge this past weekend to take on Catholic. The Blue Jay grapplers found themselves in a 20-3 hole to start the dual until senior Max Belsome picked up the first win for the Jays. Big wins from seniors Sal Signorelli, Christopoher Stricker, Sean Timler, Quinn Anderson, and Conner Vargas put the Blue Jays in the lead 35-32 going into the last match. Junior Neils Bennett sealed the victory for the Jays 38-32.
  • The wrestling team also recently traveled to Alabama for the Gulf Coast Clash. The Blue Jays finished in the top 10 with success coming from Seniors Christopher Stricker, Quinn Anderson, and Max Belsome finishing 3rd, 4th, and 5th place, respectively. Sophomore Jackson Landry placed 5th, and Freshman Christian Wright placed 7th place.
  • The basketball team rcently defeated L.B. Landry 42-39. Zach LaGraize led all scorers with 15 points. Duke Nitcher and Brennan Pitts had 8 & 7 points each. Tyler Oufnac led the team in rebounds with 8.
  • Congrats to the 8th grade soccer team who played against Brother Martin last week. The young Jays defeated the Crusaders 5-0, with goals scored by Noah Velasquez, Cooper Sparks, George Woodrow, Rivers Gleason, and Kush Gupta.
  • The varsity soccer team recently defeated Hammond 8-0. Senior Ford Frischertz opened the scoring. Junior Michael Breaux then scored, along with Gabe Zeringue and a hat trick by freshmen Colin Champagne. Alex Rouselle also scored, with assists coming from Elijah Perrien, Freshmen Evan Barrere, and Senior Beau Hellmers.
  • The soccer team also defeated Riverdale 5-0. Senior Beau Hellmers opened the scoring header that was struck true into the back of the net. Casey Parker-Karst also had an impressive 2 goals scored. And Sophomore Michael Vindel had a goal assisted by another unselfish sophomore Carter Mallen. The Liantonio Brothers and Jacob Kee also had stunning assists in the game.
