Fr. Anthony F McGinn, S.J. ’66 Pastor at Immaculate Conception Church
“Finding an Anchor” A reflection of his time at the helm during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Fr. Anthony McGinn, S.J., earned his M.A. in history at the University of Texas at Austin while teaching at Jesuit New Orleans from 1972–1976, then spent a year at Jesuit Tampa before returning in 1981 as social studies teacher and principal. In 1992 he began Jesuit’s longest presidency—steering the school through Katrina’s aftermath, serving as Provincial’s Assistant for Secondary Education, and leading a final interim presidency—and now serves as pastor at Immaculate Conception Church.
