Senior Day
- The varsity baseball team plays at St. Thomas More in a state quarterfinal playoff series this weekend. Game #1 will be played tonight with first pitch set for 6:00. Game #2 is scheduled for Saturday at 1:00. The “if necessary” Game #3 would follow at 4:00. Admission for Friday night’s game is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. Admission to Saturday’s Games #2 and #3 is $15.00 for adults and $8.00 for students.
- The varsity lacrosse team will face St. Paul’s in a state semifinal playoff game this afternoon at Catholic High starting at 4:00. Should the team emerge victorious they will face the winner of the Newman vs. Catholic game in the state championship game on Sunday afternoon at Catholic starting at 1:00. Tickets for the semifinal and championship games can be purchased at i2Tickets.com or at the gate. Cash is not accepted at the gate. Ticket price is $15.00 per day.
- The Classic Rock Club will meet today during the second half of lunch in Room 203.
- The Anime Club will meet today during lunch in Room 116 to watch “Spy x Family.”
- Juniors interested in serving as Senior leaders on next year’s Kairos retreats should submit their application today. Forms can be found in the Campus Ministry Office and should be returned to Campus Ministry. See Mr. Bacon with any questions.
- Seniors are reminded to complete The Blue Jay newspaper’s Senior Edition survey on Canvas. Responses will be included in the Senior Edition of the paper. Responses are due today.
- The Pro-Life Club is still collecting men’s clothing items for the Harry Thompson Center. Clean out your closets this weekend and bring your items to Room 316.
- Printing fees for the month of April have been sent to students’ Outlook accounts and student portal. Please pay these fees before the end of the lunch hour on Tuesday, May 6 in Room 215 either before school, at 10-minute break, or at lunch. Attention seniors, this announcement is your only notice. Failure to pay printing fees by Tuesday will result in a PH and a loss of computer services. No exceptions.
Results:
- Congratulations to the Jesuit Golf team for qualifying for the state tournament in Lafayette next Monday and Tuesday. The Blue Jays were led in the regional tournament by Freshmen Brooks Blanchard who shot a stellar 1 under par 71 to finish second in the tournament.
- Congratulations to the following Blue Jays who placed in their division in State Rally on Saturday, April 12, at LSU: 3rd place: Watson Cook, English I; Salvatore Esola, Spanish IV; James Ganucheau, Biology; David Gomez, Algebra I; and Jack Meade, Latin I; 2nd place: Bassam al Hariri, Chemistry; Brennan Cook, Latin I; Gabriel Hernandez-Salcedo, Spanish I; Ben Maloz, Latin II; Thatcher Slaughter, Geometry; and Aidan Wang, Government; 1st place: Tao Denichou, French II; and James Holmes, English IV; and finishing not only 1st in their division, but also 1st overall in the state: Rahm Sus, Latin II; and Krishi Thambiaiyah, Physical Science.
