Halloween Hijinks

A lunchtime Trunk or Treat in Traditions Courtyard gave Blue Jays a chance to swap their khakis for costumes, compete for top honors, and deliver at least one memorable campaign speech.

The Blue Jays brought plenty of Halloween spirit to Traditions Courtyard as Student Council hosted a lunchtime Trunk or Treat and costume contest. Students traded their usual khaki attire for creative costumes, making the rounds through the courtyard while Halloween tunes set the mood for the upcoming weekend.

The Student Council board narrowed the field to three finalists before turning the final decision over to the student body. With applause serving as the official ballot, Blue Jays made their choice loud and clear.

Taking home the top honor was a student dressed as an astronaut, complete with wings and a Blue Jay hat. And while his costume was certainly out of this world, it was his last-minute campaign slogan that may have sealed the deal. With the confidence of a seasoned space explorer, he proclaimed, “One small step for Blue Jays, one giant leap for Jayson.” The perfectly timed declaration, clearly invented on the spot, earned its own round of laughs and applause, providing a fitting finale to the lunchtime festivities.
