Swimming Sets the Pace
Backed by a 43rd consecutive district title and a state runner-up finish in 2025, the Blue Jays open 2026 with first-place finishes and eyes on another championship run.

Swim has opened the 2026 season with a series of first-place team finishes, continuing the program’s tradition of excellence in the pool. With a combination of experienced upperclassmen and promising younger swimmers, the Jays are building momentum as they work toward another competitive district 9-5A Championship meet next week.
Several Blue Jays have delivered standout individual performances in early competition. Senior Dillon Nguyen claimed first place in both the 50-yard freestyle (22.80) and 100-yard freestyle (50.31), while junior Aiden Kee won the 100-yard backstroke (58.28). Freshman Brandon Jollands added two victories in the 500-yard freestyle (4:54.65) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:03.89).
The Jays also demonstrated their depth across multiple events. Sophomore Harrison Tschirn won the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.31), followed by Kee and junior James Ganucheau in second and third. The Blue Jays swept the top three places in the 500-yard freestyle, while the 400-yard freestyle relay team secured another first-place finish with a time of 3:25.14.
The Blue Jays enter the season following a 2025 campaign that produced a 43rd consecutive district championship, a metro championship, and a Division I state runner-up finish. That success continues beyond Jesuit, as recent graduates compete at the collegiate level. Aidan Villars ’26, who set two individual composite state records last season, committed to Florida State University, while former team captain Grant Castillon ’26 continued his swimming career at Loyola University New Orleans. Enzo Solitario ’25, now swimming for the University of Wisconsin, made national headlines earlier this year after recording the second-fastest freshman 800-yard freestyle relay split in NCAA history. Their accomplishments reflect the strength of a program that continues to develop swimmers capable of competing at the highest levels.
The Blue Jays return to competition Saturday, October 17, at the E.D. White Thibodaux Meet, where they will look to build on their early-season success as they prepare for district, metro, and state championship competition.
