Blue Jay spirit filled Benson Arena on Friday afternoon as Student Council hosted the fall pep rally, sending the Jays into the weekend ready for tonight’s district football opener against Brother Martin.

With the student body packed into the arena, seniors Calvin Magee and Blake Couvillon took center stage to lead the infamous rollercoaster cheer, bringing students to their feet for one of the Gizzard’s favorite traditions. The Cheerleaders, Jayettes, and Blue Jay Marching Band kept the energy high throughout the rally with performances, music, and cheers. Football emerged through a cloud of blue fog to a roar from the student body ahead of Friday night’s matchup at Tad Gormley Stadium.

No pep rally would be complete without a little GizzardStudios® production magic. The newest film, The Jaytrix, made its debut on the big screen, featuring Derrick Martin as Jorpheus and senior Kain Gwinn as Jeo, pronounced Jay-oh, on a mission to help restore Blue Jay spirit. The latest installment continued a pep rally tradition of student-produced films that bring plenty of creativity, humor, and Gizzard spirit to the arena.

Before the Jays headed out for the weekend, they received one final surprise. New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough delivered a special video message to the student body, wishing the Blue Jays well and sending them into Friday night with one final reminder: A.M.D.G.
