Members of Jesuit’s MCJROTC had the privilege of welcoming 12 World War II veterans to The National WWII Museum as part of the Gary Sinise Foundation’s Soaring Valor program. Traveling to New Orleans from across the country, the veterans were greeted by Jesuit cadets alongside members of the Tulane NROTC, program volunteers, and museum staff before beginning a day dedicated to honoring their service and preserving their stories.

The Soaring Valor program brings World War II veterans and students together at The National WWII Museum, providing younger generations an opportunity to connect personally with those who served during one of the most significant periods in American history. During their visit, the veterans toured the Museum’s exhibits and enjoyed a private performance by the Victory Belles.

For the Blue Jay cadets, the experience provided an opportunity to honor the men whose service and sacrifice helped shape the nation they serve today. Meeting the veterans brought history beyond the classroom, allowing the cadets to welcome and spend time with members of a generation whose courage, duty, and commitment continue to serve as an example. By helping welcome these living witnesses to history, the Blue Jays took part in preserving their legacy while demonstrating their own respect for those who answered the call to serve.
