2025 Golf Classic

The 2025 Jesuit Golf Classic drew more than 200 golfers to Bayou Oaks in City Park for a windy, yet sunny skies day of friendly competition and fellowship. The event was proudly presented by First Horizon Bank, represented by Karl Hoefer ’76, and Marsh McLennan Agency, represented by Clint Romig ’94 and Tommy McMahon ’83.

Prizes were awarded for the best-dressed to the class of 1999 foursome – Ryan Chin, John Moran, Rock Grundman, and Douglas Pleager.

Foursomes enjoyed breakfast, jambalaya, and various tastings along the course provided by Acme Oyster House, Chateau Cafe, Drago’s, Central City BBQ, Clancy’s, Juniors on Harrison, Mr. Mudbug, Porter & Luke, and Sports Beat.

MORNING ROUND

Kevin White ’07, Colin O’Flynn ’07, William Brennan ’07, and Austin Hatcher won the morning session with a score of 17-under par. Second place in the morning went to the foursome of Daniel Maurin ’91, Paul Treuting, Eric Beach ’91, Brett Patton, at 10-under par. Rick Flick ’82, Mel Leveque ’82, Christopher Capo ’82, Paul Queyrouze ’82 took third with 5-under par.

Marc Burmaster ’02 won the closest-to-the-pin contest while Kris Martinez ’02 won longest drive.

AFTERNOON ROUND

Four Blue Jays Russell Wilcox, Casey Stavinoha, Brandon Rizzuto, Joe Lavigne ’94 won the afternoon round with a score of 14-under par. Ray Garofalo ’08, Brady Smith ’08, Preston Hymel ’08, and Trey Tomes ’08 finished second in the afternoon with 10-under par. Third place went to Bob Angelico ’76, Bob Burvant ’76, Jim Tebbe ’76, Kenny Smith ’76 with 4-under par.

Matt Forest ’92 took home the closest-to-the-pin prize. Winner for the afternoon’s longest drive is Andrew Chaplain ’03.

CLASS CUP

The morning foursome from the Class of 1999 — Ryan Chin, John Moran, Rock Grundman, and Douglas Pleager— won the coveted Class Cup, which is awarded to the foursome consisting of Blue Jays from the same class with the lowest score of the day.
