Bowling Advances to State Semifinals

Bowling advances to the state semifinals for the first time since 2014 after clinching wins over St. Amant and Denham Springs last week. The Blue Jays (13–1) got off to a strong start with a 1,322-point opening game and an impressive 3,833-point series that set the tone for the meet against St. Amant. Five starters posted series of 600 or more, led by sophomore Jacob Rudloff, who recorded a 683 series that included a 267-point middle game from the No. 2 spot. Following Rudloff, junior Grant Gehring (656), senior Jonathan Cho (648), senior Joseph Anderson (638), and senior Jack Lousteau (622) contributed to the team’s consistent performance.
Despite a notable effort from St. Amant, Jesuit maintained its offensive momentum. In the subsequent matchup against defending champion Denham Springs—a team that had previously eliminated Jesuit from the playoffs—the Blue Jays delivered a commanding performance. Senior Nicholas Womble led the effort with a 672 series, while Cho closed with a 256 finish for a 668 set, culminating in a 22–5 victory. Jesuit’s win over Denham Springs securing their spot in the semifinals and preventing a repeat of last year’s playoff outcome.
Jesuit will face Slidell at 11:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 10 at Premier Lanes in Gonzales. Should the team emerge victorious they will advance to the state championship match at 3:45. Against the winner of Brother Martin and Rummel. With a deep roster displaying both talent and dedication, the bowling team continues to move closer to a state championship title.
