Bowling remains undefeated at 9–0 as it prepares for a high-stakes district showdown against Brother Martin on Thursday, March 13, at Bowlero Kenner. This matchup of two undefeated district rivals will not only impact the power rankings heading into the postseason, but also determine the district championship.

During the second day of crossover matches between the New Orleans and Baton Rouge regions, the Blue Jays delivered a season-best performance to defeat East Ascension 18½–8½. Jesuit posted a 3,830 team series, the highest by any team in the state this season. The team came out of the gate with six 200 games in an opening 1,305 series, establishing a 6–2 lead in game one. Junior Grant Gehring led that game with a 265, finishing the match with a series-best 740. Although East Ascension trimmed the lead to 9½–6½ in game two, the Blue Jays took control in game three by opening with 10 consecutive strikes on the right pair.

In the final game, sophomore Jacob Rudloff produced a 263, supported by Gehring’s 238 and senior Joseph Anderson’s 226. Five of the six bowlers finished with scores of 600 or better—Anderson posted a 676, Rudloff a 645, senior Nicholas Womble achieved a 610, and senior Jonathan Cho contributed a 606.

Both Jesuit and Brother Martin have posted impressive numbers. On paper, Thursday’s contest is expected to be tightly contested, as Jesuit’s six starters have combined for an average of 1,200, narrowly edging out Brother Martin’s team average of 1,196. Seniors Cho and Peyton Avril currently lead their respective teams with averages of 225 and 214.

Coverage of the live stream by Crescent City Sports kicks off at 3:25 p.m. from Bowlero Kenner, with the first ball scheduled for 3:35 p.m. Ken Trahan and Lenny Vangilder will provide play-by-play commentary. The district championship hangs in the balance along with implications for power rankings, as Brother Martin, which has claimed seven state bowling championships since 2015, looks to continue its tradition as a title contender.
