Regular Order, Day 5

  • Tickets are on sale now for “Guys & Dolls” with shows at 7:30PM tonight and tomorrow. For tickets, stop by the Phils office or go to the Phils page of the website.
  • Today is the chess tournament final and all are welcome to watch. The contest will begin during the first half of lunch in Room 311. The reigning champion Chad York seeks to defend his title against Fr. Polce.
  • Classic Rock Club will take a Yearbook photo today during the second half of lunch in Room 203.
  • The varsity lacrosse team will host Captain Shreve tonight at Pan American starting at 7:00. The team plays at Gulf Breeze (FL) on Saturday.
  • The varsity track team will compete in the Chubby Marks Invitational this afternoon and evening at Tad Gormley.
  • The varsity baseball team plays at Holy Cross on Saturday with first pitch set for 1:00.
  • The jv baseball team plays at Holy Cross this evening starting at 5:30. On Saturday the team plays at Vandebilt Catholic starting at 11:00.
  • The 8th grade baseball team plays at Northshore on Saturday evening starting at 6:00.
  • The varsity rugby team faces Warren Easton on Saturday at Marconi starting at 4:00.
  • Members of Mu Alpha Theta interested in attending the National Convention in Las Vegas this summer will meet Monday during the second half of lunch in Room 227 for information.
  • All seniors interested in playing cabbage ball must register a team on IM leagues. All students interested in playing intramural pickleball must register on IMLeagues. Instructions how to register are on the intramural page on canvas. Registration for both leagues is due April 12.
  • If you have borrowed a belt from Discipline, please return it. 

Results:

  • Congratulations to the Jesuit Golf team on their victories against St. Aug. and Rummel last week.  Low rounds of the matches belonged to freshmen Duke Nitcher who fired an even par 36.  Senior Ryan Hollander who shot a 1 over par 37, and Sophomore Cole Puneky who shot a 2 over par 38. This week the team defeated Brother Martin 153 to 157 at City Park. The  low round of the match belonged to sophomore Neslon Bensel who shot an even par round of 36 and Sophomore William Boasberg who shot a two over par 38.  
  • Two weeks ago the chess team competed in the New Orleans Open.  Congratulations to Reed Urcia and Austin Janusa who tied for first place in the U1700 division.
  • Congratulations to Junior Brewer Nitcher for being named to the Louisiana Sports writers association class 5A honorable mention All-State Basketball team.
  • Yesterday, the 8th grade baseball team defeated Rummel 17-4.  Mani Vandenweghe and Jace DeLatte hit homeruns in the game.  Austin Guedry and Sully Sullivan each had three hits. 
  • Also, The 9th grade baseball team defeated Brother Martin 7-6 yesterday.  Jason Fibble and Connor O’Neal each had two hits.  
  • Finally, Last night, the varsity baseball team beat Brother Martin 12-2.  Everett Denny pitched a complete game and only gave up three hits.  Marshal Serio and Joseph Bosco both hit big doubles in the game.
