Results:

  • Congratulations to the golf team for posting two victories last week against John Curtis and St. Augustine. The highlights of the week included rounds of 2 under par 34 shot by both sophomore William Boasberg and sophomore Nelson Bensel. Great rounds were also fired by freshmen Duke Nitcher and sophomore Cole Puneky.
  • On Saturday, Jesuit sent an all-junior Quiz Bowl team consisting of captain James Redmann, Erich Smith, Mack Thomas, and Aidan Wang to compete in the Louisiana Quiz Bowl Association State Championship Tournament. In addition to several blowout victories, the team won 2 of their 3 games that came down to the final question – including a sudden-death tiebreaker question – to finish as the State Runners-Up. Congratulations, Quiz Bowl!
  • On March 9th, Jesuit’s student attorneys competed in the Region 4 mock trial tournament at the Jefferson Parish Courthouse in Gretna. After two preliminary rounds, the team of attorneys Tucker Schibler, Zachary Becker, and Derek Moore, and witnesses, Harry Fantaci, Christian Smith, and Grant Carroll, advanced to the final round, in which they defeated Louise McGehee School to claim the regional title. The team now moves on to the State tournament, which will take place next Saturday. In individual awards, Derek Moore was the tournament’s best attorney, and Harry Fantaci was awarded best witness for the second year in a row. Congratulations, Mock Trial, and good luck at State!
